Two-day training program of Legal Service Unit for Children (LSUC) was inaugurated in the auditorium of the District Court

The main function of the district level unit constituted for children under NALSA (Child Friendly Legal Services) Scheme 2024 is to provide legal aid, advice and protection to the child as well as to make the children access the welfare schemes of the government. In the implementation of this scheme, the members of the Legal Service Unit should always keep the "best interest of the child" in mind. The views of the above meaning were expressed by Principal District Judge and Chairman District Legal Services Authority Shri PC Gupta while addressing the inaugural session of the two-day training program organized for the Legal Service Unit for Children as the chief guest. Also, Mr. Gupta said that the purpose of the training is not formal but to create a medium in the form of a beam of light amidst the legal darkness prevailing in relation to children, which will make child rights accessible. It will illuminate the path to get this done. The program was inaugurated by Principal District Judge Shri PC Gupta by lighting a lamp and garlanding the statue of Maa Saraswati. On this occasion, District Judge Shri Ashraf Ali, District Judge and Secretary District Legal Services Authority Shri Ashish Dwande, Chief Judicial Magistrate Shri Nitin Kumar Mujalda, Municipal Corporation Magistrate Shri Dharm Kumar, Principal Magistrate Juvenile Justice Board Mrs. Rupali Uike, District Legal Aid Officer Shri Deepak Sharma, members of Legal Service Unit and employees of District Legal Services Authority were present.

After the formal inauguration, on the first day of the two-day training program of the District Legal Services Unit constituted for children, Secretary District Legal Services Authority Mr. Ashish Dwande, District Judge Mr. Tarun Singh, Principal Magistrate Juvenile Justice Board Mrs. Rupali Uike and District Legal Aid Officer Mr. Deepak Sharma gave training regarding the need and objective of training, main provisions of NALSA (Child Friendly Legal Services) Scheme 2024, constitutional provisions regarding children, legal provisions, policy framework, international provisions, legal aid to children in conflict with the law in police stations, juvenile justice board, child welfare committee, child court, jail etc., legal aid to children in care and protection in child protection institutes, family care, CWC, and the role of legal service unit in providing legal aid as victims of crime, missing, child labor etc.
