Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Mr. Manoj Sinha, while describing the famous litterateur and MP Late Shankar Dayal Singh as a saint litterateur, said that he was completely dedicated to the truth and in his writings, he never let relationships come in the way of truth. He was a member of the Lok Sabha from 1971 to 1977 and while being in the ruling party, he witnessed the days of emergency. After that, he wrote a book titled Emergency Kya Sach Kya Jhoot, in the beginning of which, expressing the voice of his conscience, he wrote that my frankness will give rise to some controversies and my friends will also be hurt. But what can I do? The pain of truth hidden in the soul beneath the political form, keeps hurting me. Only a saint litterateur can do this.

Similarly, recalling his contact with Late Shankar Dayal Singh, Swami Chidanand Saraswati of Parmarth Niketan, Haridwar told that Shankar Dayal ji was introduced to him by jurist Dr. Lakshmi Mall Singhvi ji, while he was India's ambassador to the United Kingdom. Then, with the inspiration of Dr. Singhvi, work on the Hindu Dharma Encyclopedia started, the responsibility of which was on him. Shankar Dayal Singh was also in the team that Dr. Singhvi advised to form for this work. In this way, Shankar Dayal Singh ji also had a creative contribution in the creation of the encyclopedia. Describing the death of Shankar Dayal Singh as an irreparable loss, he added that during the train journey itself, God gave him a new role and the traveler set out on the great journey from there. Both the great men were remembering the famous Hindisevak and MP Shankar Dayal Singh in the Dr. Shankar Dayal Singh Lecture 2024. This event was organized under the aegis of Shankar Sanskriti Pratishthan on 27 December 2024 at the NDMC Convention Center in New Delhi. The topic of this year's lecture was our needs and wants. Speaking on the topic as the keynote speaker, Swami Ji said that life is not accumulation, but relations. If we start accumulating, then we will get caught in the grip of desires. We can know and understand the needs only by living the relationships. The Lt. Governor said that accumulation is like a disease and now people in western countries are looking for ways to get rid of it. The advertising world is trying to present our desires as our needs and we are falling prey to that vicious circle. Welcoming the guests at the beginning, Ranjan Kumar Singh said that the presence of such a large number of people despite the rain is a symbol of people's devotion towards this event and the values ??associated with it. Dr. Rashmi Singh gave the vote of thanks while the programme was conducted by Dr. Vartika Nanda. Dr. Sanjay Singh, Santosh Bhartiya, Virendra Kumar Singh, along with many former ministers, MPs and many eminent personalities associated with literature, culture and education were present in the programme.

After his sudden demise on 26 November 1995, a series of lectures was started in his memory, which has been organised every year on his birthday (27 December) since 1995. In the earlier events, former Vice President Shri Krishna Kant and Shri Bhairav ??Singh Shekhawat, former Prime Minister Shri Chandrashekhar and Shri Inder Kumar Gujral, art connoisseur Dr. Karan Singh and Dr. Lakshmi Mall Singhvi, Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Shivraj Pati, Rajya Sabha Deputy Speaker Dr. Najma Heptulla and family, Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Sheila Dixit and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia, former and present ministers Shri Rajnath Singh, Ram Vilas Paswan, Janeshwar Mishra, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, and litterateurs Dr. Namvar Singh, Dr. Kedarnath Singh, Himanshu Joshi and other intellectuals have participated. An event of Shankar Sanskriti Pratishthan has also been organized in Rashtrapati Bhavan in the presence of President Smt. Pratibha Patil. Last year, Kerala Governor Hon. Arif Mohammad Khan had given a scholarly speech on the subject of Sarvadharma Sambhav and our Constitution.

MP and Hindi activist Dr. Shankar Dayal Singh Ji was an important link between literature and politics. In 1971, he was elected to the Lok Sabha for the first time at the age of 34 and then remained a member of the Rajya Sabha from 1985 until his death. Shankar Dayal Singh is remembered not only for his more than four dozen books, but also for his devotion towards Gandhi and Hindi. His services as the Vice-President of the Parliamentary Official Language Committee are difficult to forget. Apart from this, he was associated with many cultural, social and educational institutions. He established BD College in Patna, while he also contributed to the establishment of Madhusthal Residential School in Madhupur. He was also associated with the Balika Vidyapeeth in Deoghar. He had deep faith in religion and philosophy. A huge Hindu conference was organized under his chairmanship in Gandhi Maidan, Patna.
