ONE REWARDED NARCO/OFFENDERS ARRESTED FROM KORAPUT, ODISHA.

INCIDENT:
A team of NDR, Crime Branch, Delhi under the supervision of Sh. Umesh Barthwal, ACP NDR, and led by Inspector Veer Singh, successfully apprehended Md. Anawar Khan (47), a Proclaimed Offender, from Koraput, Odisha. He is main supplier of Drugs-Ganja.
Accused Md. Anawar Khan was wanted in two NDPS cases:
1. FIR No. 202/19 under Sections 20/25/29 of the NDPS Act, registered at PS Crime Branch (NR-II, Rohini) registered on 11.07.2019 and during investigation; accused persons Md Kajim & Dinesh Kumar were arrested as commercial quantity recovered: 800 kilograms of Ganja.
2. FIR No. 282/19 under Sections 20/25/29 of the NDPS Act, registered at PS Crime Branch (AGS, Dwarka) got registered on 24.09.2019 and during investigation, accused persons Jaipal Yadav & Vikas Kumar were arrested as commercial quantity recovered: 800 kilograms of Ganja.
o Md Anwar Khan was Declared as a "Proclaimed Offender" in both cases.
• Reward:
o A ?50,000 reward had been announced by the Delhi Police for his arrest in FIR No. 202/19.
 
INFORMATION & OPERATION   
In its relentless pursuit to eradicate organized crime and dismantle drug syndicates attempting to establish operations in the National Capital Region, the NDR Crime Branch, R.K. Puram, has been conducting intensive surveillance and monitoring of high-risk suspects and their associates. As part of this proactive approach, the name of Md. Anawar Khan, a key suspect, came to the notice of HC Sukram Pal.
Acting on credible intelligence, HCs Sukram Pal and Sandeep Kumar launched a meticulous technical and manual surveillance operation targeting the syndicate's activities. Their investigation revealed the movements of a wanted and rewarded co-accused in Koraput district, Odisha, believed to be linked to the larger drug network.
This crucial information was escalated to senior officers, following which a well-coordinated action plan was devised under the supervision of Sh. Umesh Barthwal, ACP NDR/Crime Branch. A dedicated team was formed, led by Inspr. Veer Singh and comprising ASI Deep Chand, HCs Sukram Pal, Sandeep Kumar, Manoj, Vinod, Sanjay, and Constable (Ct.) Sumit Kumar. The team departed for Odisha on 10-12-2024 to verify the intelligence and apprehend the suspect.
 
Field Operations in Odisha
Upon arrival at Lamptaput, Odisha, Inspr. Veer Singh and his team coordinated with local law enforcement authorities, obtained necessary assistance from the Lamptaput Police Post under PS Machkund, Odisha. The team conducted a reconnaissance of the suspected location and devised a strategic plan to execute the operation.
The team established a covert surveillance position near the target area, maintaining a patient and persistent watch. After a period of careful observation, the suspect, Md. Anawar Khan, was successfully apprehended.
Interrogation and Arrest
During sustained interrogation, Md. Anawar Khan confessed to his active involvement in multiple criminal cases, corroborating the intelligence collected by the Crime Branch. The suspect was formally arrested on 12-12-2024 and taken into custody for further investigation.

1. Quantity Recovered: 313 kilograms of Ganja.
These cases establish the accused as a major operative in drug trafficking networks spanning multiple states.

Md. Anawar Khan had passed 7th class. He is married and having two children. He is working as a driver before involved in drug trafficking.
