8189 cases were resolved by mutual agreement in National Lok Adalat

71 benches resolved the cases

As per the guidelines of Executive Chairman National Legal Services Authority New Delhi and MP State Legal Services Authority Jabalpur, the fourth and final National Lok Adalat of the year 2024 was organized on Saturday. National Lok Adalat was organized in District Court, Family Court, Labor Court, Railway Court and District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission at District Headquarters Gwalior in the district. Along with this, Lok Adalat was also organized in Civil Court Dabra and Bhitarwar.

71 benches constituted for the National Lok Adalat organized in Gwalior district resolved 8 thousand 189 cases on the basis of mutual agreement by getting compromise and awards of more than 31 crore 76 lakh 75 thousand were passed. 10 thousand 945 persons were benefited from National Lok Adalat in the district.

District Legal Aid Officer Mr. Deepak Sharma said that in the cases resolved, awards of about 23 crore 95 lakh 04 thousand 32 were passed in 1707 cases pending in the courts. Apart from this, more than 7 crore 81 lakh 71 thousand was recovered through Lok Adalat in 6 thousand 475 pre-litigation cases of bank, municipality, electricity. The resolved cases included 242 cases of motor accident, 337 of cheque bounce, 624 criminal, 58 matrimonial, 150 civil, 188 cases of electricity, 06 cases of labor department. This time, 22 cases were also resolved by the Chairman of District Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission, Mr. Rajendra Prasad Sharma (Chief Justice Cadre) through National Lok Adalat. In which awards of 74 lakh 70 thousand 130 were passed.

The National Lok Adalat was inaugurated by the Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court and Patron of Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority Jabalpur, Mr. Justice Suresh Kumar Kaith virtually from the High Court, Jabalpur. The National Lok Adalat was formally inaugurated at the district headquarters Gwalior by the Principal District Judge and Chairman District Legal Services Authority Gwalior, Mr. P.C. Gupta, by garlanding the statue of Maa Saraswati and lighting a lamp. On this occasion, Special Judge Atrocities and National Lok Adalat Coordinator Mr. Pramod Kumar Singh, Secretary High Court Advocates Association Mr. Mahesh Goyal, Secretary District Legal Services Authority Mr. Ashish Dwande, all District Judges, Chief Judicial Magistrate Mr. Nitin Kumar Mujalda, District Registrar Mr. Amit Malviya, Municipal Corporation Magistrate Mr. Dharm Kumar, all Civil Judges, District Legal Aid Officers, Administrative and Sub Administrative Officers, Legal Aid Defense Council (Nyay Rakshak), Advocates, Conciliator Members, Para Legal Volunteers (Adhikar Mitra), District Court and District Legal Services Authority including officers and employees of various departments etc. were present. About 500 shady, flowering and fruit bearing plants were also distributed in the form of Justice Trees to the parties who got their cases resolved in the National Lok Adalat, courtesy the Forest Department.

After the inauguration of the National Lok Adalat, Principal District Judge Shri PC Gupta addressed the newly appointed paralegal volunteers (Adhikar Mitras) and provided guidance about the National Lok Adalat and their role in providing the benefits of government's public welfare schemes to the common people of the society. A civil dispute going on for 20 years was resolved through a settlement in the court of Civil Judge Upma Bhargav.
