Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday paid a courtesy call on Union Health Minister Shri JP Nadda in New Delhi.

The Chief Minister requested the Union Health Minister to expand the air ambulance service operated from AIIMS Rishikesh in Uttarakhand as well as provide an additional helicopter for emergency services in the hilly and inaccessible areas of the state.

The Chief Minister urged the Union Minister to increase the central contribution per SECC family under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme from ? 1,052 to ? 1,500, as well as thanked the contribution of AIIMS experts in the Char Dham Yatra and inclusion of travel duty in the residency (DRP) of postgraduate doctors.

The Chief Minister said that the construction work of two new medical colleges in Uttarakhand is going on at a war footing. In this sequence, Jagjivan Ram Medical College, Pithoragarh and Pt. Ram Sumer Shukla Medical College, Rudrapur will apply to the National Medical Commission / Government of India to start teaching work from the academic year 2026-27. The Chief Minister requested to provide the necessary approval for the operation of these two medical colleges as well as to provide the necessary permissions for the Tehri Medical College under construction in collaboration with THDC.

The Chief Minister humbly requested the Government of India for immediate assistance for the establishment and smooth operation of a state-of-the-art trauma center at Srinagar Medical College. He said that this initiative is not only important for the local population but will also prove to be a lifesaver for pilgrims and tourists passing through the Char Dham Yatra routes and the surrounding mountain areas.

Union Minister Shri JP Nadda assured Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami of all possible cooperation.
