SHAHDARA POLICE CRACKS DOWN ON LIQUOR MAFIA: NOTORIOUS BOOTLEGGER ARRESTED WITH 600 QUARTERS OF ILLEGAL LIQUOR

OPERATION DETAILS :-

In view of rising illegal liquor selling in the area of Shahdara District, the team AATS of Shahdara District was additionally tasked to crack on liquor mafia also. This dedicated team was comprising of SI Rahul Bisht, ASI Rajiv, HC Umesh, W/HC Deepika, Ct Subham Dahiya, Ct Ajay, Ct Clever, Ct Ankur and Ct Tanuj led by SI Vikrant Choudhary, I/C AATS/SHD and under the close supervision of Sh. Gurudev Singh, ACP/Operations/Shahdara.

The team collects the intelligence/inputs about the active bootleggers. On 02.12.2024, secret information was received that one boy is selling illicit liquor near Jhuggi New Seemapuri, Delhi. If raid is conducted, he can be apprehended with illicit liquor. The information was shared to the senior officers and acting swiftly on the inputs, team conducted a raid near Jhuggi No.New Seemapuri, Delhi and apprehended one boy namely Sourabh Kumar R/o Nand Nagri, Delhi Age-24 Years from near Jhuggi New Seemapuri, Delhi, while he was selling the illicit liquor.

INVESTIGATION & INTERROGATION :-

During course of investigation, a case vide FIR No.727/24, Dated 02.12.2024, U/s 33/58 Delhi Excise Act, PS Seemapuri has been registered and investigation is taken up. On sustained interrogation, accused Sourabh Kumar mentioned above disclosed that he is not doing anything for their basic needs. He used to sell the illicit liquor and earned the money to fulfill his family needs. He used to buy the illicit liquor from their known persons at low prices and they used to sell the same on higher prices.

Accused mentioned above has been arrested in the case and the recovered illicit liquor and money of illicit liquor have been seized through the seizure memo.

RECOVERY:-

1. 600 Quarters of illicit liquor Falcon's Asli Santra for sale in Haryana Only & Cash-Rs.1610/-.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS:-

Accused Sourabh Kumar was born and grown up in Ashok Nagar Delhi and he has one brother and one sister along with parents & wife in his family. He had left the school in 6th class and married to Sonam 8 months ago. Earlier he worked as delivery boy at Flipkart grocery but he had bad habits of drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes. He was not earning money to meet his basic needs. In the meantime, he came to Seemapuri, Delhi and started selling the illicit liquor in the area of Seemapuri.

INVOLVEMENT:-

? Accused Sourabh Kumar is previously involved in six similar cases of Excise and NDPS Act.

? Further efforts are continue for more recovery of contrabands in his instances.
